Can I roam with Amaysim?
International roaming is possible with Amaysim. However, roaming is disabled by default by Amaysim. Luckily, you can easily enable it when you log into My Amaysim or the Amaysim app (Android/iOS) and go to the settings page.

Once you have enabled data roaming through the app or the website, you have to enable the data roaming setting on your phone. Then, you are ready to roam internationally. Easy, right?
Where Can I Roam with Amaysim?
International roaming with Amaysim is available in 110 destinations. If you are traveling to a destination that is not supported by Amaysim, then you will need to get a local SIM card or an international SIM card like OneSimCard, SimOptions, Surfroam, BNESIM, or SimCorner. Below is a list of the available destinations with their rates.

Officially, Amaysim does not list its roaming destinations into zones. However, based on the roaming available roaming destinations, you can group them into zones.

Amaysim Zone 1
All the destinations grouped into zone 1 can make and receive phone calls for $1 and send text messages for $0.50 (receiving text messages is free). You pay $0.005 (half a cent, 0.5c) per 10 KB or $0.50 per MB.

Amaysim Zone 3
All destinations not listed in zone 1 or 2 can be considered as zone 3. You cannot use your Amaysim SIM card in zone 3 destinations.
Cyprus is the most expensive destination you can call from while traveling abroad with Amaysim.
Can I Roam on Planes with Amaysim?
In-flight roaming is not possible with Amaysim.
Can I Roam on Cruise Ships with Amaysim?
Maritime roaming is not available with Amaysim.
Can I Call, Text, and Roam for Free with My Amaysim plan?
None of Amaysim’s plans include free international roaming to selected destinations. However, three of SIM-only mobile plans include unlimited calls to selected destinations, while two of them add another 300 international minutes to 22 other destinations.
None of these benefits apply to the As you go plan or the Data-only plans.

In the previous section, we learned that we have unlimited minutes and texts with the 30 GB, 45 GB, and 60 GB Amaysim plans, meaning there are no restrictions regarding calling and texting to standard mobiles and landlines to the following 10 destinations:

The 45 GB and 60 GB Amaysim plans allow you to call to 22 destinations around the world, although these minutes are restricted to 300 minutes per 28 days. These 22 destinations are:

Amaysim International talk & text As You Go
Unlike with Amaysim's SIM-only plans, you will be charged per minute or text when you call or text internationally with an As You Go Plan. Prices start from 6c/min per standard call and 25c per standard SMS.
Is Roaming Worth It with Amaysim?
Amaysim actively discourages its customers to roam abroad and to opt-in for a local SIM card instead. I would agree with their opinion, especially after analyzing the roaming charges per destination.
Downloading a 1 MB file in Estonia (zone 1) would cost you a whopping $5. The same file would cost you $10 in Ghana (zone 2).
In short, I would not roam with my Amaysim phone and would get a local SIM instead because Amaysim's roaming rates are simply too high. You can also consider getting an international SIM like OneSimCard, SimOptions, Surfroam, BNESIM, or SimCorner (I made an international SIM card comparison post a while ago – check it out). Using a mobile hotspot could be useful too. Else, using WIFI hotspots is another alternative to consider to save on some cash.
Roaming with Amaysim may be convenient and easy, but it is also costly. Proceed with caution and avoid high roaming bills when you are back from your holiday.
